A two-year-old boy battling a rare form of cancer has died, just 18 weeks after his mother passed away from the same disease.
Alfie and Sara Chivers, from Melbourne, were both battling brain cancer – two different types of the rare disease.
Sara, 34, was diagnosed in March last year after she fought and beat brain cancer in 2008, and six months later, Alfie was diagnosed with an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumour.Sara and Alfie Chivers both lost their battles with brain cancer. (Instagram)
The mother-of-two sadly lost her battle in January, and on Monday night, Alfie too slipped away.
“Rest in peace little man, we love you forever,” his dad Leigh posted on Instagram.
